Dear PBMTI Staff, Friends and Family,

Today, I am thrilled to share that Bree Beynon has accepted the challenge to become the Managing Partner of The Palm Beach Music Therapy Institute.

Bree first worked with PBMTI as a contract music therapist, then as a full-time employee, and in 2013, became our Director of New Business.  Bree now will move up to become our Managing Partner, taking over day to day leadership of the company.  We are honored to have her as the leader of the organization as we work together to achieve our mission of providing high quality music therapy services to clients of all ages and needs and to be a resource for the worldwide music therapy community.

PBMTI launched in 2006, offering music enrichment services in a preschool setting. We became incorporated in 2007, and established a comprehensive program with Hospice by the Sea, in Boca Raton, Florida.  This engagement became PBMTI’s first full-time music therapy program.  PBMTI and our staff worked alongside hospice providing music therapy services to their patients, families, and staff, over the course of 6 years.  In that time, we were able to offer over 11,000 sessions to patients and families through this program, including bereavement services to children.

Since Bree joined the organization, she has not only contributed to existing programs, but in the past year, she has successfully started and managed more than 20 new music therapy programs throughout Palm Beach and Broward County.  Because of Bree’s efforts, PBMTI now reaches clients in substance abuse and recovery, downs syndrome support, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, cancer support, and others. Her dedication and commitment to PBMTI and to our field have far exceeded all expectations.  Besides new program development, Bree has also offered numerous workshops, team building events, coordinated public relations, staff training, organized networking events, presented at the AMTA National Conference, and is the head of all our social media efforts.

Last year, Bree’s efforts to reach the community with the message of music therapy were also significant. Among the many outreaches she led, Bree coordinated our feature in Palm Beach Illustrated Magazine, was the keynote speaker for an “Alzheimer’s Community Care” event, and was featured on a local radio interview last year titled “Aging Issues, Caring Solutions.”

Bree, we are so proud to have you take the helm- we just know that you’re going to continue to be amazing.  Your positivity, passion for music therapy and music, and your remarkable business-sense have been such a blessing.

Please join the PBMTI family as we welcome Bree Beynon as our Managing Partner!

Best,

Catherine Nielsen, MT-BC
