Music Therapy in Medicine – An overview of how music therapy can benefit patients with various medical needs. This presentation discusses the benefits of music therapy in a medical organization for patients, families, and staff. A summary of research related to the physical effects of music including reduced pain, decreased muscle tension, reduced blood pressure, improved respiration, and effect on the brain will be provided. This presentation is appropriate for any medical setting.
Music Therapy in Early Childhood Education – An overview of how music therapy can benefit students of all levels of functioning. This presentation explores the effects of music therapy for children with autism, ADD/ADHD, developmental delays, emotional / behavior disorders, mental or physical disabilities, or other needs to help them meet academic, behavior, social and emotional goals. Rhythms of the World: A Therapeutic Drumming Workshop – Experience instruments and rhythms from around the world in an up-beat, energetic group setting. No previous music experience is required. This workshop is designed to promote team building, support, improve self-confidence, and productivity. This workshop is appropriate for any medical, education, community or corporate setting.
Healing Drum Circle – This workshop is designed to increase support and healing for caregivers, family members, or individuals with medical, emotional, or physical needs. Interactive drumming, music and imagery, and music for relaxation in a supportive, relaxing environment. This workshop is appropriate for any setting.
Music Enrichment Training for Educators – How to Use Music In Your Classroom – This workshop is for educators in preschool and elementary settings who work with gifted, neuro-typical, or special education children. This workshop explores strategies for using music as a success-oriented approach to learning. Learn how to use music to improve transitions between classroom activities, help students follow directions more quickly, and teach academic and social skills. We also provide an introduction to basic instruments and music activities. This workshop is for teachers with or without a music background.
